After lamp lighting by the chief guest and other dignitaries, the onstage programs started with Saraswati vandana followed by the school orchestra presenting a wide variety of songs thus setting the mood for a great evening of celebrations. The welcome dance presented by LKG students was thoroughly enjoyed by the chief guest.

There was a loud round of applause when the Principal mentioned that two JMA students Miss Sonam Kataria and Miss Tamanna Sankla had taken admission in 2018 to one among the top ranking institution in India today Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani and two NCC cadets of the school Nishit Jhakodia and Priyank Gour have been selected for the prestigious Republic Day Camp RDC at Delhi in Jan 2019 in addition to NCC Cadet Anshu Dara who has been Selected for Chhatrapati Shivaji Trail Trek 2018. The onstage cultural programs included classical fusion dance combining Bharatanatyam and Kathak; patriotic dance; sita swayamvar; skit on exam fever; ABCD; Pyare Panchi; aerobics; mime highlighting water conservation; comic dance and folk dances of different states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujrat, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. After giving prizes to various students for their achievements Chief Guest Smt Santosh Ahlawat congratulated JMA for its achievements and urged the students to bring more glory to their Alma mater. On behalf of the Institution, President Dr Suman Mishra honoured the Chief Guest with a shawl and a glittering memento. The supporting staff presented a surprise folk song which was appreciated by one and all. Dr Suman Mishra urged the students of JMA Pilani to take up Swachh Bharat as their karma yoga. Best teacher awards went in Primary Section to Mrs Malini Goyal; in Middle Section to Mrs Laxmi Jangir, Mrs Preeti Gupta, Mrs Usha Sharma, and Mrs Sarita Bhatnagar; and for Senior Section sto Mr Anil Swami and Ms Kritika Mandad. The coordinator award in Primary category was bagged by Ms Priya Mishra, Middle category by Mrs Sushma Sharma and Senior category by Mrs Ritika Sherawat. Other awards for teachers included Ms Preeti Jakkhodia for Discipline, Mr Harish Parihar for Music and Mr Sunil Pareek for general administration. The awards for supporting staff went to Mrs Prabha, Mrs Sonu and Mr Vikesh for their ever smiling and never say no attitudes. The School toppers for Class 10 board exams Miss Khushi Gurah and Neha verma received laptops while the other topper Miss Ankita got a cash award. Toppers for Class 12 Board exams Nishita Tailor, Anchal Swami, Aakansha Sharma and Parul Dhand got cash awards. For the past several years, OUP India has been conducting regular Teacher Training Workshops at JMA Pilani. The anchoring was done by students Nikita Verma, Harshita Saini, Hemant Kumar Chouhan and Arvind Sharma along with Ms Arti Kasiramka. Mrs Kavita Tiwari gave the welcome address and proposed vote of thanks. The program ended with National Anthem. NCC (National Cadet Corps) is a national organization which has helped in inculcation in the cadets a spirits of courage, confidence, self-reliance, selfless service, a feeling of patriotism, faith in oneself, power of thought and adjustment which are essential to make the youth disciplined and dutiful. NCC came into being by an Act of the Parliament Act No. XXXI of 1948 designated 'The National Cadet Corps Act 1948'. This Act with 13 clauses, prescribed the formation of the National Cadet Corps in India. Activities of NCC include Institutional Training, Camp Training, Annual Republic Day Camp (RDC), Prime Minister’s Rally, Attachment Training, social service and community development, Youth Exchange Program (YEP), Adventure Based Learning, Sports and Training of Trainers. From this camp, two cadets of JMA namely Nishit Jhakodia and Priyank Gour were selected for further training at Jaipur to attend the prestigious Republic Day Camp RDC at Delhi. They underwent CATC cum IGC at NCC Complex Jaipur during 27 Oct 2018 to 05 Nov 2018. At Jaipur NCC camp, Nishit Jhakodia also won gold medal for his performance. The Annual Republic Day Camp (RDC) which is held at Garrison Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment every year from 01 Jan to 29 Jan. 2070 selected NCC cadets from all States and Union Territories attend the camp. This camp represents all parts of India and is a 'Mini India' in itself. The camp is normally inaugurated by the Vice President of India in the first week of January and culminates with the Prime Minister’s Rally on 28 January. The UN International Day of Non-Violence is marked on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence. The day also marks the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri who as Prime Minister led the country during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965 and gave the slogan of "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan" which became very popular and is remembered even today. Established in 2004, Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy - JMA Pilani which has a rich tradition of observing various days of national and international importance organized a colorful combo celebration on 02 Oct 2018 to mark the International Day of Non-Violence Gandhi – Shastri Jayanti and Swaach Bharat Abhiyan. The Energy and Resources Institute TERI was established in 1974 as an information centre on energy issues. However, over the following decades, it made a mark as a research institute, whose policy and technology solutions transformed people's lives and the environment. TERI New Delhi is a leading think tank dedicated to conducting research for sustainable development of India and the Global South. TERI has also dedicated itself to the task of developing informed citizens by targeting children, as they are important stakeholders, holding the key to the future decision – making processes. Since 1999, TERI has been conducting the GREEN Olympiad in India and abroad – an environment examination for students to gauge their knowledge level on environment and related issues. The exam is conducted by Environment Education & Awareness Area (EEA) of TERI and attracts participation from school students across India and abroad. TERI's effort aligns well with the current school curriculum of various boards. Participation in the Green Olympiad is an excellent opportunity for students to test their environmental quotient and enhance their appreciation of their environment.
The students of Class IV to X were eligible to participate in the Olympiad at various levels. In level 1, students from class IV and V would complete, while in level 2, students from classes VI, VII and VIII would complete. In case of level 3, the students of class IX and X would take part, as a senior group. Each level has 50 multiple choice questions, with no negative marking and the answers were to be indicated by darkening the appropriate oval with an HB pencil in the OMR sheet provided. The students have the option to write the one hour duration Olympiad in both English and Hindi. The theme decided for2018 Olympiad is “Environment and Sustainable Development.” Established in 2004, Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy - JMA Pilani Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan said that the examination had challenging questions which truly assess environment-related sensitivity of the students and were well woven around environmental issues, with direct linkage to the school curriculum. From JMA, a total of 160 students took the examination on 07 Sep 2018. As per TERI, all participants would be receiving 'Certificate' of participation, merit or distinction depending on their individual performance; coordinating teachers would also be issued certificates and Schools / students who excel in this examination would also be felicitated.
While the popularity of martial arts like karate, taekwondo, jiu jitsu and kickboxing are unquestionable, school children in many cities across the country are showing interest to learn new forms like wushu, kudo, silambam, penchak silat, sqay to name a few. Sqay is a government of India recognized course in martial arts, and has been included in the school curriculum by the School Games Federation of India. This form of martial art has originated in Kashmir and is fought by using a shield and stick. JMA Pilani hosted the SQAY martial art training camp and national selection during 26 – 28 Oct 2018. Close to 200 participants from different parts of Rajasthan took the training and 38 boys and 38 girls were finally selected for National level in different categories and age groups. The organizers were extremely happy with the facilities and infrastructure of JMA Pilani and had words of praise for Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan for extending wholehearted cooperation in making the event a grand success.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics – NCTM Virginia USA, DePaul University Chicago USA etc are serious about teaching simple graph theory, Euler paths and circuits, numerical patterns, symmetry, and growing patterns through Rangoli which is also called Kolam in South India. Diwali is just not a festival of lights and sounds and it includes colours in the form of clothes, sweets and above all Rangoli which is a timeless tradition that is followed all over India. A rangoli usually has a geometrical structure that is also symmetrical. The design patterns often consist of natural elements like animals, flowers, etc. In many cases, designs are passed down through generations with some of them being hundreds of years old.
